LiftHero earns money two ways: Hero subscriptions, and a small cut when you buy something through a partner we recommend. This page explains exactly how the partner side works — because you deserve to know who's paying for what.
Our partnership model
LiftHero earns a share of revenue when you buy something through a partner card we show you. That's how the lights stay on without us charging more for the core app.
Partner cards only appear on your post-workout summary — never inside push notifications, never inside the active workout, never as a pop-up. Apple App Store Guideline 5.4 forbids us from using push channels to advertise, and we agree with the rule.
Per FTC §255, every partner card is labelled "Partner" or "Sponsored" before you tap it. We only partner with brands whose product we'd use ourselves.
What partners see, and what they don't
Partners receive anonymized click and conversion counts. They never receive your name, email, training history, workouts, body data, or anything tied to your account.
When you tap a partner card, we generate a one-way anonymized click token. The partner sees that a click happened — they don't see who you are. See Privacy Policy §8 (Third-party processors) for the full data flow.
Hero subscribers can opt out
If you're a Hero subscriber, you can hide all partner cards from your post-workout summary. Settings → Privacy → toggle off "Show partner cards."
Free-tier users see partner cards as part of how the app stays free. Fair trade.
How we pick partners
Manual curation, end of story. No algorithmic auction, no programmatic ad network, no real-time bidding. A human at LiftHero approves every partner before they show up in the app, and we match cards to your training goals — not to whoever paid the most.
If a partner stops meeting our bar, we drop them. No long-term contracts that force us to keep showing something we no longer believe in.
What we'll never partner with
- Coupon-spam aggregators.
- Multi-level-marketing recruitment.
- Supplements making unverified medical claims ("burn fat in 7 days," "guaranteed muscle growth," anything implying disease treatment).
- Products targeted at minors.
- Prescription-pharma referrals.
- Predatory financing for fitness equipment.

See a partner card that doesn't belong, or think we got a partnership wrong? Email lifthero.support@gmail.com with the subject "Partnership concern" and the partner name. We respond within 14 days.
